Europe and Dow retreated last night.
Dow closed -161 at 16977. Dow's trend is still up but short
term is turning down. Dow's future is now -8. Europe opened down.
Asian bourses were mostly down. Nikkei
-155, ShanghaiC +3, Hangseng -66. STI closed +3 at 3310. Volume
was 1.7b shares. Gainers were 195 to 221 losers.
Trend of STI is up.
Top volumes were OLS +0.1, Jaya -0.4,
IHC +0.5, SIIC -0.1, WE unchanged, CapitaComTrust +3.5, STATSChipPac +2,
CharismaEner unchanged, Mirach -0.4, APAC unchanged.
Market opened down but crept up slowly
through the day. It only turned positive in the last hour of trading to
close marginally up. Blue chips were slightly firmer. Penny and speculatives
were mixed. Volume fell to below 2b shares again.
Europe and Dow are looking a bit weaker
and with the weekend and the Middle East fighting, it is likely to close
weak.
