Europe and Dow took a heavy knock last night. Dow fell 470 pts to close at 16858. Trend of Dow is down. Dow's future is now +78. Europe opened slightly negative.
Asian bourses closed mostly weaker. Nikkei -70, ShanghaiC -11, Hangseng -250. STI closed flat at 2883. Volume was 1.3b shares. Gainers were 189 to 237 losers.
Trend of ST is still down.
Top volumes were Ezra +0.4, IHC -0.5, ChineseGlobal +0.1, Noble +1, ChinaFishery +0.5, GoldenAgri unchanged, Mercator +1.1, PacificAndes +0.1, Ezion +1.5, SingTel -4.
STI opened slightly up and stayed there for the most part of the morning. It turned higher around noon but closed at near day low. Blue chips were mixed. The general market was mixed.
European bourses are flat at the moment while Dow's future is positivie.
