European bourses and Dow were down last night. Dow closed -287 at 24700.

Asian bourses closed mostly up. Nikkei +288, ShanghaiC +144, Hangseng
+228. STI closed +14 at 3315. Volume was 1.9b shares. Gainers were 226 to
141 losers.

Top volume were NicoSteel unchanged, Ezion +0.3, Noble +3.4, DISA
unchanged, YZJ +2, Genting +1, Jiutian +0.2, HPHTrust +0.5, NetlinkNBN
+0.5, SingTel -1.
STI opened slightly up and stayed that way for the rest of the morning. It
started to move further up after lunch but closed slightly off its day high
at +18.
Blue chips were slightly firmer. The general market also saw gainers
slightly more than losers.
