Asian bourses closed mixed. Nikkei -32, ShanghaiC -13, Hangseng +77. STI
closed +12 at 3342. Volume was 777m shares. Gainers were 181 to 166
losers.

STI opened slightly up and moved higher, hitting day high after half an
hour of trading at 3357. It then pulled back slightly to close for lunch at
3349, +20. After lunch it slid back through the afternoon session to close
at 3342.
Blue chips were generally higher. The general market was slightly firmer.
