Sharp falls in European bourses and Dow last night. Dow plunged 606 to
close at 25387. Recent short run up is threatening to turn down. European
bourses opened down.
Asian bourses closed mixed after a negative opening. Nikkei -471, ShanghaiC
+24, Hangseng +129. STI closed -15 at 3054. Volume was 2m shares.
Gainers were 152 to 198 losers.
Trend of STI is sideways but weakening.
Top volumes were ThaiBev +2, Genting unchanged, RexIntl -0.3, KLW +0.2,
CapitalWorld unchanged, YZJ +2, Ezion -0.1, AlliedTech +0.1, SingTel -2,
Yoma +2.
STI opened down given the sharp fall in Dow last night. It then climbed all
the way to close at morning high at 3053, -15 points. After lunch it
hovered around this level and closed at -15.
Blue chips were mostly in the red. The general market was also down but off
the day lows.
European bourses have turned positive and Dow's future is also up at this
moment.
