Daily Summary 4 Jan 19

European bourses and Dow fell sharply again last night.  Dow closed -660 at
22686.  The break up of short term Dow trend took a hit and turning back
down.  European bourses opened up.

Asian bourses opened down but closed mixed when Dow's future recovered.
Nikkei -453, ShanghaiC +51, Hangseng +562.  STI closed +40 at 3053.  Volume
was 1.3b shares.  Gainers were 243 to 123 losers.

Trend of STI is sideways at the moment with no clear direction.

Top volumes were Ezion +0.5, RexIntl +1.1, ThomsonMed +0.3, JasperInv -0.1,
Genting +2, Spackman +0.3, Jiutian +0.1, CapitaComTr +5, SingTel +4, YZJ
+4.

STI opened down but was positive after an hour of trading. It continued to
move up to close for lunch at morning high.  After lunch the climb
continued all the way to close nearly at day high at +40.

Blue chips were mostly up while the general market was firmer.

European bourses and Dow's future are up at this moment.
