of Dow is down. European bourses opened up.
Asian bourses closed mostly down. Nikkei -61, ShanghaiC -9, Hangseng -121.
STI closed -27 at 3136. Volume was 1.2b shares. Gainers were 140 to 195
losers.

STI opened down and moved up briefly but unable to turn positive. It then
slipped down again to close -23. After lunch it hovered at the same level
all the way to close at -20.
Blue chips were mostly down. The general market is also down.
