Daily Summary 26 Aug 19

European bourses and Dow tumbled on Friday after US and China traded blows
on tariff hikes.  Dow fell 623 points to close at 25629.  The one week of
creeping up gave way and Dow's trend is looking down again.  European
opened mixed.

Asian bourses closed sharply down today.  Nikkei -450, ShanghaiC -34,
Hangseng -499.  STI closed -43 at 3067.  Volume was 920m shares.  Gainers
were 74 to 304 losers.

Trend of STI is turning down.

Top volumes were LionGold unchanged, NicoSteel unchanged, RexIntl -0.3, YZJ
+3, SingTel -9, ThaiBev -2.5, MapletreeNAC -2, AEM -4, Genting -0.5, AA
-0.1.

STI opened down 46 points. It traded at the 3065 level for the whole
morning closing for lunch at 3066.  After lunch it took a big dip and hit
day low at 3055 within minutes, -55 points. It stayed at this level till
midmorning before pulling up to hover around 3070 till it closed at 3067.

Blue chips were mostly in the red. The general market likewise was nearly
all red.

European bourses are mixed at this moment but Dow's future is up.
