European bourses closed down last night but Dow managed a gain of 69 points closing at 28703. One year trend of Dow is up European bourses opened up.
Asian bourses closed mostly up. Nikkei +371, ShanghaiC -1, Hangseng +96. STI closed +25 at 3243. Volume was 1.5b shares. Gainers were 283 to 173 losers.
Trend of STI is point slightly up.
Top volumes were AusGroup +0.8, MarcoPoloMarine +0.4, MermaidMaritime +0.4, MoyaAsia +0.7, NamCheong +0.1, InterraResources unchanged, GSSEnergy +0.3, YZJ +4, Goldenagri unchanged, SingTel +1.
STI opened +15 at 3236. It quickly dipped back to near flat but recovered and closed for lunch at 3239. After lunch it climbed higher and was at day high at 3247 after less than an hour of trading. It drifted down slightly and fell further after mid afternoon only to recover and close at 3243.
There were more gainers than losers among blue chips. The general market was also firmer.
European bourses and Dow's future are up at this moment.
