European bourses and Dow were up last night. Dow was +161 at 28745. Trend of Dow is up. European bourses opened up.
Asian bourses were mostly up with big rallies in Nikkei and Hangseng. Nikkei +535, Hangseng +473, ShanghaiC -18. STI closed flat at 3246. Volume was 1.9b shares. Gainers were 282 to 195 losers.
Trend of STI is sideways.
Top volumes were AusGroup -1.1, OEL +0.6, ASTI -0.1, TEE +0.7, DISA +0.2, MarcoPoloMarine -0.3, RexIntl -1.4, MoyaAsia -0.5, Sincap +0.3, Broadway +0.1.
STI opened +17 points and moved up higher to hit day high in half an hour of trading at 3263. It then pulled back and was at morning low at 3246 just before lunch, closing for lunch at 3248. After lunch it moved up again but could not hold on and slid back to close near day low at 3246. Day low was 3243.
There were more gainers among the blue chips. The general market was firmer but many of the speculative stocks fell.
European bourses and Dow's future are up at this moment.
